PRIVATE PAEDIATRIC OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY PRACTICE

Welcome
Hello, I’m Zanelle Coetsee, the Occupational Therapist behind Seedlings Occupational Therapy. I’m passionate about helping children grow, develop and thrive in their everyday environments.
At Seedlings, I believe that every child has unique potential waiting to unfold — just like a seedling that needs the right care and support to bloom. My approach is gentle, play-based and rooted in understanding each child’s individual strengths and challenges. I work closely with families to support early development, sensory integration, emotional regulation and school-related skills in a nurturing and positive space.
Whether your child is struggling with attention, fine motor skills, sensory processing, or simply needs a little extra support to feel confident and capable — you are in the right place. Together, we’ll help your child grow strong roots for lifelong learning and success.
About Us
At Seedlings Occupational Therapy, we believe that growth happens when children feel loved, understood and supported. Our practice was founded on the idea that, just like seedlings, children need the right care, environment and encouragement to thrive.
We provide individualised Occupational Therapy that focuses on each child’s unique strengths and needs. Whether it’s helping little ones with early developmental milestones, supporting sensory integration and regulation, or preparing children for school, our goal is always to nurture confidence, independence and joy in learning.
Families are an important part of the journey, and we love working together to create meaningful progress — one small step at a time. Because when children are supported to grow strong roots, they can blossom beautifully in every part of life.

Our Services
Early Childhood Developmental Assessments
Comprehensive assessments to understand your child’s strengths, challenges, and developmental needs. This helps guide therapy goals and support both at home and school.
School Readiness Assessments & Scholastic Support
Helping children prepare for and adjust to the school environment by building pre-writing, visual-motor, attention, and organisational skills — so they can feel capable and confident in the classroom.
Individual Therapy Sessions
Play-based, child-centred sessions that focus on skill development through movement, creativity, and sensory exploration. Therapy may include fine and gross motor development, sensory integration, attention and regulation.
Individualised Home Programs and Home Visits
Home programs are designed to support a child’s progress outside of the therapy room through fun, practical activities that can easily be done at home. Home visits can also be arranged to observe a child in their natural environment and provide guidance to parents and caregivers, helping to make everyday routines more successful and supportive of the child’s development.
Ayres Sensory Integration (ASI) Evaluation and Treatment
Ayres Sensory Integration (ASI) is a therapeutic approach developed by Dr. A. Jean Ayres, an occupational therapist and psychologist. It focuses on how the brain processes and organizes sensory information — such as touch, movement, sound, and sight — to help us respond appropriately to our environment. This is a specialised field in Occupational Therapy and requires a post graduate qualification.
When a child has difficulty processing sensory input, it can affect their attention, behaviour, coordination and ability to learn. Through play-based activities, Ayres Sensory Integration therapy helps the child’s brain develop more effective ways to take in, organise, and respond to sensory information, supporting better regulation, focus and participation in everyday activities.
An Evaluation in Ayres Sensory Integration (EASI) can be completed to assess how a child processes sensory information. This assessment helps to identify specific sensory integration difficulties and guides individualised therapy planning.
Parent & Teacher Guidance
We believe teamwork makes the biggest difference. We offer feedback, practical strategies, and support to help parents and teachers better understand and assist the child’s needs in daily life
